How You Can Help

The best way you can help is by praying for Zimbabwe:

Dear God, we thank you for Zimbabwe

and the faithful ministry of your servants over many generations.

May justice rule and peace return.

May the hungry be fed, the homeless loved,

the disabled given hope, the aged and the destitute be cared for.

May your kingdom come, your will be done in Zimbabwe.

Amen

This is the prayer of the Mothers’ Union, Anglican Church of Zimbabwe.

All glory to God who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20

OUR MAJOR PROJECT FOR SELF SUFFICIENCY!

Do you want your heart broken and yet be inspired?

Come with us to the Jairos Jiri Children’s Rehabilitation Centre in Harare where 167 ‘differently abled’ children live and play. They are cared for by loving, dedicated Christian teachers, nurses, physiotherapists, cooks and cleaners. Although the staff are lowly paid their love and care shows through in the happy, cheerful smiles of the children.

To help the Centre become self sufficient Zimbabwe Challenge is starting an agricultural project with cattle and a laying hen house.

We have the land. Detailed costing has shown that US$ 60,000 will get this up and vialable within 3-6 months.

HELP for Destitute women.

Foundations for Farming/Farming God’s Way

With the current economic climate in Zimbabwe we feel the best way we can help destitute women to self-sufficiency is to assist them through Foundations for Farming/Farming God’s Way. This wonderful scheme shows how one woman can produce enough maize to feed her family for a year with some left over for items such as uniforms and school fees.

US$50 provides training, seed, fertilizer and farming implements to get it underway.

Micro business Initial start up and development costs

This project is presently on hold because the shortage of cash makes it so difficult for new businesses to succeed.

This Solar Light Project helps destitute women start up or develop their own micro business so they can feed, clothe and care for their dependents. Each woman receives 50 hand held solar lights to sell.

They must give 10% of the sales to the next group of destitute women.

They use the balance to start or develop their own micro business so they can become self sufficient. These brave women, many of them widows, receive training in household budgeting and micro business management.

One light costs AU$12.

500 lights costing AU$6000 will put smiles on the faces of the next 10 destitute women.

There is no social security in Zimbabwe and unemployment is 85% and climbing.
